During an unannounced inspection tour, Executive Chairman Mrs. Onomen Briggs of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board visited Obaseki Memorial Primary School in Abudu—a school built by the late Mr. Obaseki Jackson. The visit uncovered several anomalies within the institution.
Accompanying Mrs. Briggs on the tour were Board Secretary Mrs. Beatrice Ada Oluku, Board Member Representing Edo South Pastor Mrs. Angela Okpamen, along with senior officials from the Departments of Social Mobilization, Schools, and Planning and Projects.
In light of the irregularities identified, Mrs. Briggs has directed the school’s headteacher, Mr. Igbinobaro Kingsley, to report to the state board on Wednesday, 2nd April 2025, to address the issues. This decisive action underscores the board’s commitment to upholding educational standards and ensuring that all institutions adhere to established guidelines for excellence.
