The Edo State House of Assembly has confirmed Hon. Ebanehita Sonia Omonzane as the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
The confirmation was announced by the Speaker, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, following an overwhelming majority of “ayes” from members during plenary.
Speaking shortly after her confirmation, Hon. Omonzane expressed gratitude to God and appreciated Governor Monday Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve in such a critical role.
“I am deeply honoured by the trust and confidence reposed in me by His Excellency, the Governor, and the Edo State House of Assembly,” she stated.
Hon. Omonzane reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the Governor’s vision of ensuring that every child in Edo State has access to quality and inclusive basic education. She emphasized her focus on strengthening teacher capacity, improving learning environments, and promoting accountability in the delivery of education services across the state.
